The King of Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey brand was established in 1881 by John G. Roach Distilling, Co. Brown-Forman acquired the brand from Selected KY Distillers, Inc., in 1936, only to retire it years later. In 2018, Brown-Forman revived the lapsed label with a 21st century persona, paying homage to the brand’s past. Today the King of Kentucky brand provides whiskey connoisseurs with a rare look into Brown-Forman's barrel archives through an ongoing release of ultra-premium Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey single barrel expressions.
